An exciting Matchday Live lineup has been confirmed ahead of a bumper month of action for City.

There are already five shows confirmed across March for our Men’s and Women’s first teams, with a sixth potentially on the cards subject to our involvement in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

With two famous City faces also set to make their debuts on the show this month and popular guests returning, Matchday Live is once again not to be missed across each of our digital platforms…

Plymouth Argyle

To reach the FA Cup quarter-finals we must first get past our Championship opponents at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 1 March.

Peter Reid and Andy Morrison, who spent time at both teams during their storied careers in the game, make up your punditry team for the game, which gets under way at 17:30 (UK).

You can also follow live commentary from kick-off with Alistair Mann and Nicky Weaver.

Nottingham Forest

Seven days later and attentions turn back to the Premier League and a huge fixture at the City Ground.

Mark Crossley will join the Matchday Live team for the day, offering an opponents’ perspective having spent over a decade at Forest.

He’s sure to bring lots of funny anecdotes (and an excellent impression) of legendary Forest manager Brian Clough, so stay tuned for plenty of laughs in between the usual analysis.

Kit Symons will have lined up for City against Crossley during his three years at Maine Road, but the two will join forces on Matchday Live as your punditry team for the 12:30 kick-off.

As always, you can follow the action with live audio commentary from Alistair Mann and Michael Brown from kick-off.

Chelsea (League Cup)

An exciting double-header beckons on Saturday 15 March, beginning at Pride Park as City do battle in the League Cup final (12:15 kick-off) with Chelsea.

Gareth Taylor’s side are looking to win the trophy for a fifth time in our history, with Steve Howey providing expert insight from the Matchday Live studio.

Karen Bardsley was City’s hero in our penalty shootout final victory over Arsenal back in 2019, and she’ll be at Pride Park providing pre-match build-up on the show as well as commentary from kick-off with Nick Walsh.

Brighton

Later that afternoon, Pep Guardiola’s men welcome Brighton to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League from 15:00.

Steve Howey will be in the studio once again, with Alistair Mann and Andy Morrison your commentary team from kick-off.

Chelsea (WSL)

Potential FA Cup quarter-final involvement aside, a busy March on Matchday Live concludes at the Etihad Stadium with City hosting Chelsea in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Incredibly, it’ll be the third time in the space of eight days that we’ve faced Sonia Bompastor’s side, having locked horns in the League Cup final and the first leg of our Champions League quarter-final in midweek.

But another thrilling showdown between two of the WSL’s heavyweights is on the cards, with former City duo Toni Duggan and Jen Beattie your punditry team.

The pair made just under 200 appearances between them in Blue and were both key to our unbeaten WSL title-winning campaign back in 2016, among a swathe of other honours.

They’ll be joined by presenter Liam Loftus at the Etihad Stadium, with Nick Walsh and Karen Bardsley calling the action from the commentary box.
