Manchester United are looking to offload flop winger Antony in the January transfer window.

The Brazilian winger has endured a difficult time at the club since his big money move from Ajax.

He was signed by former manager Erik ten Hag but he has never been able to stamp his authority at Old Trafford and show the consistency and quality that was expected from him.

Ruben Amorim is now looking to allow the player to leave the club this month and La Liga club Real Betis have been linked with a move for him.

With Antony earning around £200,000 a week at the club, the La Liga side wanted Man United to pay most of his salary.

However, with United facing financial troubles of their own, they did not want such a deal.

The Red Devils are reluctant to pay the wages of a player who is contributing nothing to their team.

According to Marca, Real Betis have now made an improved offer for Antony and it is closer to what Man United have been demanding.

Talks have continued between the Premier League and La Liga side over the past few days and they are confident of reaching an agreement for the move.

The Brazilian would leave the club in a loan move this month if both the parties can reach a deal.

Although United would have liked to offload the player in a permanent move and end Antony’s disastrous chapter at the club, they have only received a loan offer for the winger at the moment.

The player has failed to replicate his form from Ajax in the Premier League and the sooner Man United get rid of him, the better it is for them.

He is on high wages and his departure would save the club a lot of money.

Antony came on as a halftime substitute against Southampton in United’s last match and his miss from point blank range summed up his career at the club.
