Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel has reportedly u-turned on his previous decision not to join Spurs and will now complete a loan move to the club.
According to various reports, the 19-year-old is set to join Spurs on a straight loan deal until the end of the season with no obligation for the club to buy him.
Sky Sports say Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou held a long discussion with the Frenchman over his plans to use the forward and persuaded him to join.
It follows reports last week that Tel had turned down a permanent move to Tottenham after they had agreed a fee with Bayern Munich.
The news comes as a blow to both Arsenal and Manchester United, who are also both keen on the striker.
Arsenal are understood to have wanted an option or an obligation to buy the forward rather than just a straight loan deal.
Tel has played just eight Bundesliga games under boss Vincent Kompany this season and is keen for more game time.
Elsewhere, Manchester City are reportedly closing in on a deal for Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez.
According to Fabrizio Romano, City will pay Gonzalez’s release clause, and the Spaniard will now fly to England to complete a move.
Evan Ferguson has also joined West Ham from Brighton on loan until the end of the season.
Sky Italy say a deal has been agreed for Joao Felix to head to AC Milan on loan from Chelsea.
Wolves and Leicester are exploring a possible swap deal between Conor Coady and Craig Dawson, Sky Sports say.
Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka is currently in Germany undergoing a medical at Borussia Dortmund, with the 21-year-old set to join on loan with an option to buy.
And Sky Sports also report that Chelsea rejected a late loan bid from Manchester United for striker Christopher Nkunku on Sunday.
