Roma and Inter Milan are considering a shock swap deal between midfielders Lorenzo Pellegrini and Davide Frattesi.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere dello Sera, via FCInterNews. They report that Inter would also want a fee for Frattesi.

Reports in the last couple of days have indicated that midfielder Frattesi now wants to leave Inter.

The 25-year-old has yet to nail down a starting spot at Inter. And it doesn’t look likely that he’ll do so any time soon.

Frattesi has lost patience with this lack of playing time. Therefore, he wants to move to a club where he’ll be the first-choice starter.

Meanwhile, Roma captain Pellegrini has seen his own playing time decrease dramatically this season.

The 28-year-old has not featured much under current Giallorossi coach Claudio Ranieri.

Therefore, like Frattesi, Pellegrini could push for a move as early as during the January transfer window.

And these two situations could intersect, according to the Corriere della Sera.

Even as early as this month, reports the newspaper, the two clubs are considering working out a swap deal involving the two Italian international midfielders.

However, it would have to be a player-plus-cash swap, the Corriere della Sera adds.

Inter value Frattesi more highly than Pellegrini. Therefore, they would expect a cash fee in addition to the 28-year-old for the deal to happen.
