Roma are planning to create a way to maximize their talents and bridge the gap between Primavera and Serie A.

The Giallorossi are in fact determined to bridge the gap with the other big names in Italian football, especially Juventus, Milan and Atalanta, who have already long since structured their Under 23s in Serie C.

The plan, strongly supported by the head of the youth sector Alberto De Rossi, Bruno Conti and sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, foresees the creation of a real B squad, capable of offering continuity and playing time to the most promising youngsters.

However, the decisive element is missing: the green light from the owners.

The Friedkins, although in favor in principle, have not yet unlocked the project from a financial and organizational point of view.

For this reason, it seems difficult that the Under 23s can be operational as early as the 2025/26 season, while a start in the following season, 2026/27, seems much more likely.

One of the main obstacles to overcome concerns the venue of the matches. In Rome there are currently no approved facilities equipped with the structural and safety requirements required by Lega Pro.

The Agostino Di Bartolomei stadium, inside the Fulvio Bernardini sports center, cannot be adapted for safety reasons.

Not even the Tre Fontane, used by the women’s team, can represent a stable solution. Therefore, there remain hypotheses outside the capital, such as the Domenico Francioni stadium in Latina, already used in the past for some friendlies, or the Anco Marzio in Ostia, home of Ostiamare, where the team led by Daniele De Rossi also plays.

The project, writes Il Messaggero, according to internal estimates, would involve an initial investment of between 15 and 20 million euros, including staff, registration, logistics and memberships.

A significant figure, but considered sustainable in light of the economic and technical return guaranteed in the medium-long term.
