Ruben Amorim has admitted Manchester United co-owners INEOS are unlikely to provide any extra funds for a summer transfer spree.

The Red Devils were limited in their spending power during January, only adding left-back Patrick Dorgu and centre-back Ayden Heaven after failing to permanently offload any squad players in the winter window.

After the window closed, United's financial concerns escalated. More staff are expected to be made redundant - Sir Jim Ratcliffe fears United could go bust otherwise - while the wider INEOS company are also under fire for admitting they walked back on a sponsorship agreement with New Zealand Rugby over financial concerns.

Asked how INEOS' financial concerns would impact his plans for the summer transfer window, Amorim again conceded their spending power will be dictated by outgoings.

"It is simple," Amorim said. "To do something, we need to sell players.

"Our focus now is to win these games. Then we have time to focus on that."

United do have plenty of players who could depart, but finding permanent buyers has so far proven difficult. Marcus Rashford and Antony are both out on loan in the hope of attracting suitors, while Luke Shaw and Casemiro are also facing uncertain futures. Strikers Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund face battles to prove themselves under Amorim.

Valuable assets like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are no longer seen as untouchable and could be sold for significant offers, although there is no active desire to part ways with either.
