A team in red and white stripes will definitely be returning to the English top flight, and you do not want to miss finding out.

Callum O’Hare to score anytime

The attacking midfielder has delivered when it has mattered for the Blades, scoring in both semi-final legs from the bench, and will be confident of making another vital impact here.

Sunderland clean sheet – No (3/10 with bet365)

They may have taken their foot off the gas somewhat after sealing their play-off spot, but Sunderland’s defence will be a concern heading into the final. The Black Cats have now gone seven straight games without registering a single clean sheet.

How both teams go into Sheffield United vs Sunderland

Just one place separated the two sides in the Championship during the regular season, though third-placed Sheffield United finished 14 points ahead of Sunderland in fourth.

Although both comfortably secured their places in the play-offs, neither finished the regular campaign in particularly strong form.

Indeed, Sheffield United won just two of their final seven games. Nevertheless, Chris Wilder’s side regained their stride in time for the semi-finals against Bristol City, who were swept aside 6-0 on aggregate following a pair of 3-0 wins for the Blades.

Wilder’s team are now one more victory away from sealing an immediate return to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Sunderland did not enter the post-season brimming with confidence either, after a run of five straight defeats.

However, the Black Cats edged out Coventry City 2-1 in their semi-final first leg. Despite Frank Lampard’s side forcing extra-time in the return fixture, Daniel Ballard’s last-gasp winner sent Regis Le Bris’ men to Wembley.

It would complete a remarkable turnaround for Sunderland, who suffered successive relegations after their last appearance in the top flight in 2016-17.

Sheffield United team news

Callum O’Hare will be pushing to start for Sheffield United at Wembley, having scored in both semi-final legs as a substitute. Ben Brereton Diaz and Femi Seriki are fit again, and could return having missed the second leg. But the likes of Ollie Arblaster and Harry Souttar will be absent.

Sunderland team news

Le Bris named an unchanged starting XI for both semi-final legs, though Romaine Mundle will be pushing for a start after his return from injury. Aji Alese is in a race to be fit, though Chris Rigg and Chris Mepham may miss out after they were dropped from the starting line-up ahead of the play-offs.

Sheffield United vs Sunderland head-to-head

The Blades have won three of their last four meetings with the Black Cats, who did stop the rot with victory last time out.
