Southampton have taken a step back on the injury front with Taylor Harwood-Bellis picking a new fatigue against the France U21 team.
In recent days, the Nations League knockout phases have begun in full flow. Well, English fans have been let down on this occasion as the Three Lions aren't mounting a European trophy challenge.
Nevertheless, they addressed their World Cup qualifying commitments in the meantime by getting the better of Albania. As expected, the first thought that comes to mind is successfully claiming a winning head-start under Tuchel.
Unsurprisingly, not everyone feels the same way about yesterday's evening. At least, Southampton fans don't because they have been left irritated while watching England in action.
Firstly, Tuchel poured cold water on the Saints' pre-match excitement to see Ramsdale in goal. Though the German didn't annoy them further, the England U21 fixture inflicted a familiar helplessness towards Southampton.
Now, them getting outplayed by their French counterparts isn't the talking point here. Instead, the focus is on Taylor Harwood-Bellis who added to his already soaring list of fatigue complaints.
The 21-year-old was deemed fit for selection merely weeks ago and another injury will surely shorten his current campaign.
Thinking about the club's decision-makers, they must have grown frustrated by taking these frequent fitness headaches. The team is already running short on top-flight quality and their shrinking roster is downplaying their hopes of taking any more Premier League points.
Consequently, they have been surrounded by a plethora of miserable figures which aren't inevitable in the first place. But, they demand victories and even securing one is a commendable achievement given the lengthy injury blows the team has sustained.
Whether they will win any matches is debatable but a continued center-back scarcity must force the Saints to sign a few reliable defenders when the opportunity presents itself.
