Stuttgart chief signs new long-term contract | OneFootball

VfB Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle has signed a new long-term contract with the Swabian club, extending his tenure until 2030.

Wehrle, who has been Stuttgart's CEO since 2022, has overseen significant progress during his time at the helm.

“Alexande Wehrle and his team on the executive board have achieved extraordinary things for VfB in recent years," said VfB Stuttgart supervisory board chairman Dietmar Allgaier.

"Having started in incredibly difficult circumstances across the board, VfB Stuttgart has succeeded in consolidating its financial position, reaffirming its strength on the pitch and realigning practically all areas of the business under his leadership. Without his efforts, the club probably wouldn’t have its own foundation, there would be no global brand alliance and no ambitious focus on key innovation and future-oriented issues.

"The VfB family considers itself fortunate to have Alex Wehrle as the head of its ranks. We’re delighted he has committed to VfB and look forward to continuing our successful journey together.”

Wehrle expressed his gratitude, commenting:

Over the past three years, we’ve made important progress in sporting, economic and structural terms and re-established VfB as an attractive destination in domestic and international football. Now it’s a matter of continuing to strategically build on our foundations with courage and efficiency. This includes asking future-oriented questions about infrastructural projects such as a new club centre, a venue for women’s football and our Under-21s, and a museum that brings our special history to life.
