Sunderland in the lead for Roma’s Enzo le Fee

Serie A side Roma had signed Enzo le Fee in the summer but times haven’t been great for the Frenchman, who is now close to an exit, with Sunderland very keen on a move.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Sunderland have overtaken competition from Real Betis in the chase for the midfielder and they are working on a move to land the player on an initial loan deal with the option to buy permanently.

The next few hours are going to be vital in the saga, with several teams keen on the midfielder. The Frenchman has played only 319 minutes in the Serie A and his relationship with manager Claudio Ranieri hasn’t quite taken off, as he was left on the bench in the game against Lazio. He has now been on the bench for three games in a row.

He had picked up an injury early on in his life in Rome and it doesn’t seem as if he has adjusted to life at the club.
