A surprising statistic surrounding the endeavours of La Liga giants Barcelona with and without the contributions of Dani Olmo across the season to date has come to the fore online.
The name of midfielder Olmo has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last week.
This comes as the Camp Nou brass continue to struggle in efforts to register the club’s summer signing for the 2nd half of the campaign.
Olmo is considered an absolutely integral figure in Barcelona’s squad, crucial to how Hansi Flick intends his side to play.
Safe to say, then, that it may come as something of a surprise to hear that, thus far in 2024/25, the Blaugrana have actually fared better without the Spanish international in their line-up than with, in La Liga.
As revealed by statisticians Opta:
‘Barcelona have a better percentage of wins without Dani Olmo on the pitch in La Liga (66.7%) than with him (54.5%) when he plays in the competition this season.’
