Arsenal will again fall short of winning the Premier League, as Liverpool has a 12-point gap with nine matchdays to go. As a result, the Gunners will look to see this summer what they can do to ensure that they can finish atop the standings next season.

If the Gunners want to return to domestic dominance, they might have to make decisions on players who have been there awhile and offload them for new talent that can take them to the next level.

Mikel Arteta made a bold move when he replaced popular goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale with David Raya. It felt pretty harsh, especially since Ramsdale hadn’t done anything wrong, but Arteta believed there was a better option available.

And in hindsight, he was right to make that decision. However, Arteta might need to make similar tough calls with other players this summer.

Could Arsenal push for Bradley Barcola?

TalkSPORT suggests that Arsenal will need to make this harsh decision again with another player, Gabriel Martinelli. Since netting 15 Premier League goals in the 2022-23 season, he has managed just 12 more in 59 top-flight appearances, along with seven assists.

As a result, the English media outlet notes that PSG’s Bradley Barcola and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams should be two targets on Arsenal’s radar this summer to upgrade their wing position.

“Two sensational young talents that spring to mind is Paris Saint-Germain wing wizard Bradley Barcola and Spain sensation Nico Williams,” talkSPORT noted. “Both 22, with a proven temperament at the highest level, their prime is just around the corner.

“Barcola has a lovely blend of speed and panache, exploding away from his markers with a trick, body swerve, or a frightening piece of acceleration.”
