Enzo Maresca won’t be sacked if Chelsea fail to qualify for the Champions League according to journalist Matt Law.
The Blues appointed the Italian last summer as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor on a five year deal after he guided Leicester to the Championship title.
Maresca has come under increased pressure following a difficult spell post Christmas with the Blues dropping from second to fifth in the table.
The expectation of most fans and likely the club at the start of the season were to qualify for the Champions League and win the Conference League.
With just two game remaining in the league the Blues occupy the fifth and final Champions League spot, but they must win against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest in order to return to Europe’s Premier club competition.

Chelsea have also made the Conference League final where they will take on La Liga outfit Real Betis in Wroclaw on May 28th.
Questions have started to appear about Maresca’s future if Chelsea were to miss out on the Champions League, but The Telegraph have reported his job is safe regardless.
The report adds Chelsea are aware of interest in the 45-year-old from other clubs, but there’s no intention to make another managerial change based on the outcome of the final three games.
The Telegraph state the view inside Chelsea is there has been progress this season regardless of final league position and if they win a trophy.
Joe Cole believes it would be stupid for the Blues to sack Maresca, and what the club desperately need with this young group is stability in the dugout.
It’s been reported previously Chelsea feel Maresca can become one of the best coaches in the business, and they need to give him the time to show that.
