In a post-match interview, Luis Enrique was full of praise for Strasbourg and Liam Rosenior after they inflicted a second defeat of the season in Ligue on PSG.
After Les Parisiens made 10 changes ahead of their second leg against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday, the Alsatian outfit seized advantage in the hunt for UEFA’s premier club competition with a 2-1 victory. Strasbourg secured all three points thanks to a Lucas Hernandez own goal and a winner from Félix Lemaréchal before half-time.
The fortunes of the Racing club have dramatically improved since the arrival of the former Hull City boss. Rosenior has instilled an attractive playing style at the BlueCo-owned club and this has seen them emerge as unlikely challengers for Champions League football this term. Strasbourg now sit in 5th place in Ligue 1, behind Nice on goal difference, after win against Les Parisiens.
This impressive form displayed by Rosenior’s side in 2025 has seen them receive lofty praise including that from Luis Enrique. After his team’s defeat, the Spaniard said, “It’s a team that plays football very well. They resemble PSG in some aspects, with many young players, mobility and a very accomplished technique. It is an entertaining team, one of the surprises in Ligue 1. They work very hard and are difficult to beat.”
