Thijs Dallinga had this to say after the game: “After a historic night in Rome, we were fully focused on the game tonight: we prepared well as always and we wanted to get the result to try and achieve Champions League qualification again, but unfortunately we didn’t manage it. It is difficult identifying what we missed, Fiorentina are a strong opponent, we gave everything and it was a good performance, but unfortunately not enough: this is football. At the start of the season, I was struggling to score a bit more, it took me longer than I thought to adjust to Serie A, but then the goals came. I am happy here at Bologna, day after day I became part of the team, I have worked hard and I know I am growing”.
