Chelsea may reintegrate Joao Felix into the squad on the basis they may struggle to find a buyer according to reports.

The Blues signed Felix last summer in a deal worth £45m from Atletico Madrid, and he penned a seven year contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old played second fiddle to Cole Palmer over the first half of the season and started just three Premier League games.

Chelsea may reintegrate Felix

Despite only join last summer Felix made it clear he wanted a new challenge in January and he sealed a loan move to AC Milan.

The Portuguese made a good start to life in Italy as he scored on his debut, whilst he expressed his desire to remain in Milan beyond the end of the season if possible.

However, things have taken a turn in the Italian capital with Felix losing his place in the side and the local media have criticised his performances.

Reports have suggested it’s unlikely as things stand that Milan will look to make his move permanent and journalist Nizaar Kinsella has provided an update on Felix.

“There is also Joao Felix, who is unlikely to join AC Milan permanently but may struggle to find a buyer,” he told BBC Sport.

“He could be reintegrated on that basis.”

Signing Felix has proven to be a disaster so far and despite him insisting otherwise it’s evident Maresca didn’t want the Portugal international.

Felix is set to return in time for the Club World Cup and could play a role in the tournament this summer, but it seems unlikely he’s got a long term future at Stamford Bridge.

Quite how much Chelsea would be looking for isn’t clear and with a potential lack of buyers another loan move could be the most likely outcome to try and attract more suitors.
