With the transfer window nearing its end, Tottenham remain active in the market as they look to strengthen their squad.

After missing out on Mathys Tel, who opted to stay at Bayern Munich despite an agreement between the clubs, Spurs are now considering alternative options in attack.

Meanwhile, young striker Will Lankshear is set to join a Championship club on loan, and there are reports suggesting Tottenham could make a late push for AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori before the window closes.

However, it is the search for a new forward that has taken priority, as the club scrambles for reinforcements before the February 3 deadline.

Spurs eyeing Hamza Igamane

Tottenham’s latest target appears to be Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane, who has caught the attention of several clubs with his performances for Rangers this season.

According to TEAMtalk, Spurs and Everton have been monitoring the 22-year-old closely, with scouts regularly attending games at Ibrox.

Igamane joined Rangers last summer from FAR Rabat for just £2.5 million but has quickly made an impact in Scotland.

He has netted nine league goals in 20 appearances and added four goals in five Europa League matches, making him one of the most promising attacking talents in the Scottish Premiership.

Despite the growing interest, Rangers are reportedly unwilling to sell Igamane midway through the season.

TEAMtalk’s report indicates that a move this month is ‘highly unlikely,’ as the Glasgow club remain determined to keep hold of their top scorer until at least the summer.

However, Rangers’ transfer model is built around developing young players and selling them for a profit, meaning a move at the end of the season could be on the cards.

With other clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen and Nice also monitoring the striker, Tottenham may face competition if they decide to pursue Igamane more aggressively in the coming months.

A concerning transfer pattern

While it is understandable that Tottenham are searching for attacking reinforcements, the pattern of transfer rejections is becoming increasingly worrying.

First, Randal Kolo Muani turned them down, then Mathys Tel followed suit, raising questions about the club’s appeal to top prospects.

The fact that Spurs are now being linked with Igamane, a player with potential but far from a proven goalscorer at the highest level, suggests the club may be settling for riskier options rather than securing established talent.
