Spurs beaten in Europa League for first time this season in wild night at RAMS Park
Tottenham dropped points in the Europa League for the first time this season as they were beaten 3-2 by Galatasaray in a wild game in Istanbul.
Yunus Agkun opened the scoring with an outstanding strike from 25 yards and Victor Osimhen scored twice before the interval.
Teenager Will Lankshear had levelled the game at 1-1 but was sent off for two bookable offences on the hour.
Gala saw two goals disallowed for offside and had enough chances to win the game by seven or eight goals but sub Dominic Solanke set up a nervous finish with a brilliant flicked finish for the ten-man visitors.
Here’s how we rated the Spurs players…
Fraser Forster 6
Made a string of saves to keep the scoreline respectable and yet was also part of the problem. His sloppy distribution repeatedly played Spurs into trouble of their own making.
Pedro Porro 5
The wrong side of Osimhen for his second goal in a miserable display defensively. Burst forward to set up Solanke for the consolation goal.
Radu Dragusin 3
Lost possession for Osimhen’s first goal after being pressed on his blindside and was caught napping for the striker’s second. Part of a defence which gave up chance after chance on another difficult and unconvincing night for the Romanian in this competition.

Ben Davies 4
Could not close down Osimhen for the crucial second goal and wasteful playing out from the back.
Archie Gray 6
Made the equaliser with an outstanding diagonal to Brennan Johnson but struggled to contain winger Baris Yilmaz.
Yves Bissouma 5
Guilty of overplaying at times and unable to give sloppy Spurs a foothold in midfield in the first half. Drove forward with the ball in an improved second-half.
Lucas Bergvall 3
This was another rough night in the Europa League for the Swede, who repeatedly lost possession and was probably fortunate to stay on for as long as he did.
James Maddison 4
Also wasteful in possession in a performance which is unlikely to convince Postecoglou to keep in the side ahead of Pape Matar Sarr on Sunday.
Brennan Johnson 6
Coolly and unselfishly set up Lankshear for the leveller but otherwise anonymous in a first half dominated by Gala.
Heung-min Son 5
Wasted a great two-on-one situation with a sloppy touch. Hooked at half-time to save him for Ipswich at the weekend.
Will Lankshear 6
Levelled the game with his first senior goal – a great moment for the teenager – but his dream night became a nightmare when he was sent off. His second booking was deserved for a rash and naive challenge, so the 19-year-old could have few complaints.

Subs
Dejan Kulusevski (Johnson 45’) 7
His legs were important, particularly after Spurs went down to 10 men. Might have done better with a long-range effort in stoppage-time with the goalkeeper well off his line.
Rodrigo Bentancur (Son 45’) 8
Added some much needed poise and control to the midfield after the break, and made some important tackles and blocks at the back.
Dominic Solanke (Bergvall 67’) 7
Celebrated another England call-up by giving Spurs hope with a lovely flicked finish.
Pape Matar Sarr (Maddison 67’) 6
Bright from the bench as Spurs pushed for an undeserved draw.
