Manchester United could compete with Bayern Munich to sign one of Bundesliga’s best strikers, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.
The Red Devils have been disappointing in front of goal this campaign. They have netted just nine goals from their first 10 Premier League games.
Rasmus Hojlund has netted just twice from 10 appearances while summer signing Joshua Zirkzee has one goal to his name from 14 outings thus far.
In a brief update, Falk has now revealed that Bayern are eyeing a new striker to provide cover for Harry Kane and Sesko is one of the candidates.
The reputed journalist added that the German giants are likely to face competition from the Red Devils.
United are not actively looking to sign another striker at the moment, but the scenario could change next summer depending on the performances this term.
Among the two, Zirkzee looks the most likely candidate to be sold. It has been claimed that Ruben Amorim has already decided to part ways with him.
In that case, INEOS could open the door for a marquee striker signing, but the big question is whether Sesko would be preferred by the incoming manager.
The £67 million star has netted 25 goals since joining Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg last year.
The Slovenian comes with a huge reputation and could get better with age. He can be ‘one of the best in the world’ as described by BBC Sport before Euro 2024.
However, Amorim could lean towards an experienced and familiar option in the form of Gyokeres, who could be available for around £63 million next summer.
The Swede has been sensational for Sporting in the last 18 months with 63 goals from 66 outings and Amorim could prefer a reunion with the 26-year-old.
