The Seagulls went down 3-2 to The Foxes a week ago and they must now look to return to winning ways against a quality Manchester City outfit.
When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Brighton & Hove Albion boss Vidošić said that his side have to take on the learnings from last weekend’s defeat and be much better against Manchester City.
“There’s been a lot of learning, especially from the first half to the second half,” Vidošić said.
“We know we must be better than that, we made it very difficult. We almost salvaged it in the end and had a couple of chances but the damage was done in that first half; we made it very difficult for ourselves to get back into the game.
“Upon reflection, it was almost undeserved but deserved. If you have 45 minutes like that in this league, it makes it so tough. We have to learn from that and be much better because we know we have a tough test [against Manchester City].”
Vidošić comes up against Manchester City’s interim head coach Nick Cushing for the first time but he isn’t expecting major changes from The Cityzens compared to the former regime.
He said “Not too much has changed. They’ve probably had a limited amount of time to be on the [training] pitch given how congested the schedule is and the recovery. I know that they’ve had a bit of a depleted squad, so that makes it harder.
“A lot of the things that they’ve been doing are sort of there. He’s put his touches on it and we know how good of a coach he is.
“Being able to analyse them against the same opponent four times, Chelsea gave them different problems, so different solutions were needed. If it was four different opponents, we would probably have a bit better idea of what those changes are but we know the qualities that they possess and they have a great coach and coaching staff.
“We will have to be ready and alert for any changes to who is playing but we know that it’s going to be a very tough challenge.”
Brighton & Hove Albion are unbeaten at home in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season and Vidošić has called on the club’s fans to show their support again this afternoon.
He said “We look forward to it. Our fans come out in good numbers and they’ve been supportive of us away, so it hopefully shapes up for another special afternoon. The weather’s going to be fantastic, so I’d encourage everyone to come out and help us because we will need their support.
“It’s becoming a tough place to visit, we enjoy playing at home and it’s another fantastic challenge, especially on the journey we are on. There’s no better game than Manchester City.”
