After scoring his 19th goal of a fabulous season against Fulham on Sunday, Brentford's in-form Yoane Wissa striker drew level with Premier League heavyweights such as Mohamed Salah in terms of non-penalty goals this season.
Wissa swooped to put the Bees 2-1 up against the Cottagers at the weekend, his ability to sniff out opportunities in the box clearly in evidence as he turned home from close range after a dangerous long throw-in from Michael Kayode.
Having already assisted his sidekick Bryan Mbeumo earlier in the contest, Wissa's strike gave Thomas Frank's side the lead, but Fulham roared back to claim victory after goals from substitutes Tom Cairney and Harry Wilson.
However, Wissa's 19 strikes this season drew him level with Liverpool goal machine Salah for non-penalty goals in 2024/25 - as nine of The Egyptian King's 28 Premier League strikes this term have come from the spot.
In fact, even Erling Haaland (21 goals, two penalties) and Alexander Isak (23 goals, four penalties) cannot beat Wissa for non-penalty strikes this term - the Man City and Newcastle marksmen also level with the DR Congo international on 19.
After the Fulham game, Wissa spoke about his desire to reach 20 goals for the season and a fantastic stat lies in store if he AND his strike partner Bryan Mbeumo reach that milestone in Brentford's final game of the season at Wolves on Sunday.
Should both players reach 20 goals for the season at Molineux, they will join an exclusive list of just four duos to BOTH score 20+ goals in a Premier League season.
Dating back to the competition's inception in 1992/93, only Andy Cole & Peter Beardsley (1992/93), Didier Drogba & Frank Lampard (2009/10), Luis Suarez & Daniel Sturridge (2013/14) and Sadio Mane & Salah (2018/19) have struck up such partnerships.
