The recent Copa del Rey final between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid attracted a lot of attention. Even before the game itself, there was a lot of controversy attached to this massive final. Ultimately, however, Barcelona emerged victorious as they beat their eternal rivals in extra-time.

From Pedri’s surreal goal to Jules Kounde’s sensational winner, Barcelona produced a game with a lot of magical moments. However, as Pedri himself stated after the game, the team is not simply done with their season here and there are other challenges to now look towards as well.

Arguably the most important one, however, will be the game against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League. Now among the final four teams left in the competition, both Barcelona and Inter Milan have a lot to prove and do in this upcoming fixture.

However, ahead of the first leg against Barça at the Montjuic Stadium, Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaighi spoke about the fixture as well. As highlighted by MARCA, he promised to give respect to his opponents but also assured everyone that his side would go into the game without any fear:

“We’ll go out there with respect, but without fear.”

Moreover, he spoke about the Copa del Rey final as well and stated that the game itself did not teach his team anything new about Barcelona that they did not already know:

“We know very well what kind of team Barcelona is; yesterday’s match didn’t teach us anything new.”

For both teams, this game will be a massive fixture. Unfortunately for Inzaghi, however, his team’s recent form has not been promising. With three losses in a row, Inzaghi’s team is struggling to win games and they have not scored a single goal in their last three games either.

With the first leg set to be played at Barça’s home ground, Hansi Flick’s side will need to put on a big performance. While the recent Copa del Rey final was undoubtedly exhausting, Barcelona need to regroup and recover in time to face off against their Italian opponents at full strength.
