Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha was in the rumor mill during the winter transfer window. Still, a few days ago, the Premier League side secured him to a long-term contract extension. However, that isn’t stopping the rumors.
Cunha quickly established himself as a key player for Wolverhampton Wanderers, impressing with his ability to play in various attacking roles. Whether as an attacking midfielder, supporting striker, or center-forward, the Brazilian adapted seamlessly to each position.
His standout performances drew interest from top clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, according to Fichajes. While Cunha became integral to Wolves, the club was reportedly open to selling him for a fee exceeding €70 million.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports News reported that Nottingham Forest had prepared a club-record bid of around £60 million, which they hoped to have persuaded Wolves to sell.

Wolves are in a relegation battle, and the clubs keen on the Brazilian are hoping that they drop to the Championship, which will allow them to make a move for Cunha. Moreover, Football Insider reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that their star attacker also sees a move in the future.
According to their report, Cunha is keen to play for a bigger club despite signing a new Wolves contract. Football Insider adds that there will “no doubt” be renewed interest from top Premier League clubs in the summer window if Cunha can maintain his impressive form in the second half of this season.
Cunha’s new contract with Wolves features a £62.5 million release clause, protecting the 25-year-old’s value to the club, which has faced financial difficulties in recent years, per the report.
