Marcus Rashford has yet to seal his desired move away from Manchester United, with only three days remaining until the deadline.

The Reds’ 2-0 win over FCSB last night marked the 12th successive game that he was completely omitted by Ruben Amorim, having last featured for the side on December 12.

He hasn’t been short of suitors over the last month, although none have formally materialised their interest by sending a bid – or even a loan proposal – United’s way.

Heading into the window, it was thought AC Milan were front-runners to sign Rashford for the remainder of the campaign, with his agent (and brother) Dwaine Maynard even flying to Italy to hold talks with the European giants.

However, that was until Kyle Walker announced his intentions to depart Manchester City following a torrid run of form, and Milan prioritised a move for the defender to fill their only remaining non-EU player spot.

Barcelona are now thought to be the most concrete club targeting the 27-year-old, though they cannot facilitate his arrival unless they free up space on the wage bill through sales.

Weighing in on Rashford’s controversial situation on Stick to Football, United legend Wayne Rooney told the panel: “I went into Carrington on Sunday to take my kids to game day, and Marcus Rashford was out on the training pitch with the fitness coach, but he was right over towards where the parents were walking past for the kids’ games.

“I looked at him, thinking how embarrassing it must be for him as parents walk past.

“I’ve spoken to Marcus a couple of times, and I’ve given him my thoughts and feelings that he needs to leave the football club because whatever is going on in his life and at Manchester United, he’s not the same. For him to have a fresh start, he needs to leave the club.”
