Arsenal

The Athletic and others have reported that the priority for the Gunners remains a winger with only Brazilian teenager Marquinhos offering natural back-up to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli currently, though Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira could also play wide.

Links with Wolves’ Pedro Neto have emerged but it would likely take a huge fee to prize the Portuguese away from Molineux.

Aston Villa

A move for Watford’s Ismaïla Sarr fell through but it did suggest that Steven Gerrard is looking to add to to his attacking options.

But the potentially season-ending injury to €30m summer signing Diego Carlos leaves a gap at centre-back that needs to be filled, with Southampton’s Jan Bednarek said to be on their list.

Bournemouth

The Cherries’ hopes of staying in the division will likely rest on their attacking prowess and, though Kieffer Moore and Dominic Solanke look capable of impressing at this level, a move to Blackburn’s Chilean hero Ben Brereton Díaz has been touted by DorsetLive in the last week.

Brentford

The Bees have had a successful window up until now with the arrivals of Mikkel Damsgaard and Keane Lewis-Potter, meaning there isn’t much left for Thomas Frank to do.

Cover in attack to allow Ivan Toney or Bryan Mbeumo from time to time would be beneficial but keeping hold of the former will be their biggest aim for the rest of this window.

Brighton and Hove Albion

Graham Potter might be happy with his lot as the deadline draws nearer but the Seagulls may have to dip into the market for a striker after Neal Maupay completed his move away from the AMEX.

Chelsea

It’s a case of watch this space at Stamford Bridge during the remaining days, with countless players linked.

However, the Blues are mostly in need of a goalscorer after the failed experiments with Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

Crystal Palace

Patrick Vieira is building an exciting team at Selhurst Park, with Cheick Doucouré a promising addition in midfield, but could the Eagles bring Conor Gallagher back south of the river?

Everton

The Toffees have impressed in spells of their opening four games but their lack of focal point in Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s absence is telling.

Neal Maupay has joined but Frank Lampard could do with more firepower if Everton are going to avoid being dragged into another relegation battle.

Fulham

It’s been another summer of multiple incomings at Craven Cottage but Marco Silva is still believed to be looking to bolster his attacking roster.

Leeds United

Jesse Marsch’s side have had a good start to the season but relying on Patrick Bamford to stay fit all season was their downfall in 2021/22.

Liverpool

The clamour from Liverpool supporters seems to be for Jürgen Klopp to bring in a new midfield amidst an injury crisis in the squad.

But maybe the Reds could actually do with a new winger to complement their forward line. The club lost Sadio Mané, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino in the summer and have only replaced them with one body in Darwin Núñez so far. Villarreal teenager Yéremy Pino would add something different to the options Klopp already has at his disposal.

Manchester City

The arrival of Sergio Gómez has solved an issue in sorting cover for the full-backs so it’s feet up time for Pep Guardiola.

Manchester United

It is expected to be a busy final few days at Old Trafford with Antony set to sign not going away and links to various midfielders.

But getting a central striker in could be imperative to Erik ten Hag’s hopes of success this season, providing a focal point for Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford to work off.

The reported interest in Stuttgart’s Saša Kalajdžić seems to have died down but the 6’7″ striker would represent some shrewd business.

Newcastle United

The new owners are starting to flex their muscles with a €70m bid for Real Sociedad striker Alexandar Isak.

If they follow that up with Watford’s João Pedro then the Magpies would have had a very eye-catching window indeed.

Nottingham Forest

Not a thing. Forest have done more than enough for one window. It’s time to calm down, guys.

For the Saints, keeping hold of captain James Ward-Prowse will represent a successful conclusion to a busy window.

Tottenham Hotspur

It’s been a busy window for Spurs but the need for a creative midfielder to compliment Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur remains a desire.

There have been numerous reports linking the club with a move for Manchester United’s James Garner throughout the summer.

West Ham United

David Moyes appears to be intent on revamping his midfield, with bids confirmed for Lyon’s Lucas Paquetá and Club Brugge midfielder Hans Vanaken confirmed by the Scot on Wednesday.

Wolves

If Manchester United aren’t quick enough then it is Wolves who will nip ahead in the move for Kalajdžić.

With Raúl Jiménez taking a while to get back to his best following his shocking head injury, the Austria forward could be the perfect foil for Bruno Lage’s side.
