With only a couple of days left in this winter transfer window, FC Barcelona are still looking to bring in an offensive reinforcement for Hansi Flick. However, to land a new player, the Blaugranes will first have to generate some margin on their wage bill, and for this purpose, will have to part ways with some of their players.
For this purpose, there are two first-team players likely to depart, i.e., Ansu Fati and Andreas Christensen. However, in addition to these two players, there are two Barcelona Atletic players who have also been linked with moves away from the club in the last few days.
One of these players is Unai Hernandez, who is likely to depart for the Saudi side Al-Ittihad before the winter transfer window closes. However, there is also a possibility of this move being postponed till the summer.
The other player is Pau Prim, who has been linked with the Qatari side Al-Sadd in the last few days. This move is expected to bring several million Euros to the Blaugrana coffers, but there is also a possibility of the young midfielder leaving for free, as his current contract expires at the end of this season. However, in such a possibility, Prim might be unable to play till June.
In fact, Mundo Deportivo reports that the young talent had actually given the go-ahead for a long-term renewal with Barcelona, but the offers from Al-Sadd and the Saudi club Al-Qadisiya put a stop to this operation.
The economic terms offered by these Middle Eastern clubs were irresistible for the youngster. But in addition to this economic aspect, there is also a sporting aspect involved as despite him being one of the most talented midfielders in the Barcelona academy, his way to the first-team is virtually barred with Flick’s decision to bet first on Marc Bernal and then on Marc Casado.
