Two seasons ago, the Clarets dominated the Championship under Vincent Kompany as they finished on 101 points, but it ultimately came to nothing as they suffered relegation from the top flight just a year later.

Despite having a relegation on his CV, Kompany was picked up by Bayern Munich to be their new manager, meaning Burnley would be entering a new era. Scott Parker was the man they selected to take them forward, as he had previously earned promotion from the Championship on two occasions, with both Fulham and Bournemouth.

Parker has not had an easy start to life at Turf Moor as he has witnessed a number of key players depart the club this summer, with the likes of Wilson Odobert, Sander Berge and Dara O'Shea all leaving for the Premier League.

This meant that Parker had to go out and refresh the squad with several new signings, with most of them coming from fellow English clubs.

Burnley fans will accept no less than play-offs or promotion this season, so it is vital that Parker keeps his squad happy to ensure they go out and get consistent results.

Competition for places is tough, meaning the task of keeping every player happy is a difficult one. Today, Football League World looks at two Burnley players who could be eyeing a move away from the club in January in the hopes of being successful elsewhere.

Mike Tresor

Mike Tresor spent last season on loan at Burnley before the move was made permanent this summer as the club were obligated to trigger the fee in the deal.

His loan spell last season was a huge disappointment, as he made just three Premier League starts, and made an extra 13 cameos off the bench, failing to score or assist a single goal.

There were huge hopes for the forward after he contributed to 29 goals in the Belgian top flight the season prior, but he flattered to deceive at Turf Moor.

It was reported late in the summer transfer window that Tresor was set to depart on loan, with journalist, Sacha Tavolieri claiming that Nice and Ajax were both looking to bring him in.

Neither club were able to match Burnley's demands though, and a move never materialised before the deadline. Tresor remains part of the Burnley squad, but he will likely be looking to move in January, after his departure collapsed this summer.

Hannes Delcroix

Hannes Delcroix is another player who joined last season but failed to earn regular game time under Vincent Kompany. The defender started just five Premier League games, either at centre-back or left-back, with each game ending in a loss for the Clarets.

He has not had much luck so far this season either, as he is currently out with injury and is yet to appear in the Scott Parker era.

Delcroix will struggle for game time when he returns, as Burnley have a number of solid centre-backs on their books. His only hope of game time is at left-back, but he will be competing with new signing, Lucas Pires.

If he fails to be a part of Parker's plans in the very near future, he may look to find a way out of the club in January to take on a new challenge.
