Arsenal appear open to the sale of Eddie Nketiah this summer, but they want to receive a good fee for his transfer.

Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, and Brentford have all been discussed as possible buyers, but two of the three look a lot less likely on Monday morning.

For starters, Forest have reportedly made a £21m bid for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez. There’s no agreement yet, with Feyenoord wanting £30m, but if a deal is done then they would be out of the race for Nketiah.

As for Brentford, the club had been touted as a possible buyer for Nketiah in light of Ivan Toney’s exclusion from their opening matchday squad, with talk of interest in him from Saudi Arabia.

Yet Dom Smith of The Standard reports that Brentford have no plans to sign a striker this summer even if Toney leaves. The club feel they have enough options up front either way.

That leaves Crystal Palace. Sky Sports News reported last week that Palace had explored the conditions of a potential deal, and that they’re in the market for a forward. But they’re yet to make any sort of concrete move for Nketiah.

Nketiah made 37 appearances for Arsenal last season, though just 13 of those were starts. The striker made appearances throughout pre-season and was in Mikel Arteta’s squad against Wolves on Saturday.
