The winter transfer window is approaching in around one and a half months and FC Barcelona have several tasks to take care of in this window. The one with the highest priority is that of registering Dani Olmo with La Liga, as he was only registered till January in the summer transfer window.

Another task that the Blaugranes had at their hands was to make a decision about the future of Ansu Fati, as the winger is not getting too many minutes under Hansi Flick after having returned to the Catalan club after the last season on loan at the Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

The club and the player were reported to be considering their options, with sides like Fenerbahce and Sevilla interested in him. However, Fati recently suffered a hamstring injury and is currently sidelined till January.

With this physical setback, SPORT reports that any possibility of him leaving Barcelona in January is now removed, and the player will have to focus entirely on his recovery and ensure he returns to the pitch to finish the season at the best level possible.

Although the Spaniard is expected to return to fitness in January, it is very unlikely that a club will make a bet on him. Flick was also not too keen to see Fati depart in the winter window as getting a replacement for him would have been almost impossible. Thus, for now, it looks like the player will stay in Barcelona till June, and his future options will be assessed the next summer.

With this development, the only change that can occur in the Barcelona squad in the next winter window, barring the registration issues of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, is the departure of Pablo Torre. Barcelona want him to get consistent minutes to continue his development, but he is not expected to get them under Flick as the German already has a very high degree of competition for the midfield spots.
