Yann Aurel Bisseck – Inter

A former academy product of FC Köln, Bisseck spent time on loan at Holstein Kiel, Roda JC, Vitória Guimarães and Aarhus GF before making a move to the Danish side on a permanent basis. The German-Cameroonian defender then joined Serie A side Inter for a reported €7.2m in July 2023, becoming a mainstay in Simone Inzaghi’s defence, playing 50 games across all competitions. Adept at playing in a back-three or four, Bisseck offers versatility and at 196cm, asserts a physical presence in the box. Bisseck has played 29 games across all competitions for Inter this season.

Nadiem Amiri – Mainz

Nadiem Amiri made his Germany debut against Argentina in 2019 and hasn’t been a part of the national team setup since November 2020. Almost a five-year absence, the Mainz player deservedly returns. With 24 games across all competitions this season, the 28-year-old has scored six and created three in 22 league games under Bo Henriksen this season, helping his side to third in the table. Excellent on the ball, per FBREF, Amiri ranks high in expected assists (4th), progressive passes (7th), key passes (9th) and shot-creating actions per 90 (6th) in the Bundesliga this season. In the absence of Florian Wirtz who is sidelined with an ankle injury, Amiri has an excellent opportunity to shine as an ‘older head’ within the squad.

Leon Goretzka – Bayern Munich

He wasn’t absent for long, but Leon Goretzka returns to the German national team for the first time since November 2023. A dip in form and a potential exit from Bayern Munich, the 30-year-old has worked his way back into the Rekordmeister’s starting lineup and is deservedly back in the national team. Goretzka has started Bayern’s last seven Champions League games and played a key role in both of their CL wins against Bayer Leverkusen.
