Northern Ireland’s first game for nine years at Windsor Park brought a 4-0 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Group win over Latvia.
More than 4,000 fans saw the Irish repeat the margin of victory from their opening qualifier but they had to be a little patient.
Sarah McFadden’s looping header hit the top of the bar late in the first half, the deadlock being broken soon after the restart as Marissa Callaghan had a shot blocked, with Louise McDaniel drilling home the rebound for her first senior international goal.
Kirsty McGuinness marked her 50th cap with a goal midway through the second half, her tidy finish coming after she was played in by Callaghan.
Demi Vance’s superb cross was chested home by Callaghan from close range, who then had a shot handled in the area and Furness fired home the resulting penalty.
