We take a look at five soon-to-be out-of-contract players that the Terriers should look to target ahead of the summer.
Huddersfield Town conducted some shrewd business during the January transfer window, with Joe Taylor and Dion Charles arriving as two of their recent additions.
Taylor has performed very well in League One before with Lincoln City - and Charles is a proven goalscorer from his time at Bolton Wanderers.
Ruben Roosken and Tawanda Chirewa were their other two additions - and the pair will be hoping to contribute a decent amount in the coming months.
The Terriers, however, did lose Michal Helik and it will be interesting to see how they get on without having the Polish centre-back at their disposal, with the defender previously a key part of Michael Duff's plans.
In this piece though, we're looking ahead and listing five players the West Yorkshire side could look to recruit on a free transfer in the summer.
Joel Pereira has been a solid figure between the sticks for Reading since he established himself as a regular starter at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
He has made a couple of errors during his time in Berkshire, but he's been a notable upgrade on David Button, and he is someone the Terriers should have in their sights ahead of the summer window.
Chris Maxwell's contract expires at the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether Lee Nicholls will be at the club beyond the end of the summer window.
With this in mind, Pereira could be a very shrewd addition.
Lincoln centre-back Paudie O'Connor has been nothing short of outstanding this season.
The Imps may have endured mixed fortunes under Michael Skubala this season, but O'Connor has been exceptional, winning a sizeable number of duels.
He has established himself as one of the best central defenders in the third tier - and he could come in handy for a Terriers team who will probably need to invest in their centre-back area during the summer.
With Michal Helik now gone and Nigel Lonwijk only on loan, targeting a move for O'Connor would be a good decision.
Some Bolton Wanderers fans have been critical of Ricardo Santos this season.
But he remains an important player for them and is a real asset to have at this level.
Whether he would make the move to Huddersfield if they stayed in the third tier remains to be seen, but he's definitely a player the Terriers should have on their radar.
Not only is he an important figure on the pitch, but he can also be a leader, and having a strong voice like Santos at the back can't do Duff's side any harm.
O'Connor and Santos could both be solid signings in this respect.
Michael Smith has shown in both the Championship and the third tier of English football in the past, holding a very impressive record in the latter.
He hasn't started every game for Sheffield Wednesday this season, but he remains an important figure and has made some valuable attacking contributions again this season.
Smith would only be a short-to-medium term asset for the Terriers, but his goals and assists could help Huddersfield, either to win promotion from their current division or keep them up in the second tier.
He may be a more realistic target to have if they win promotion.
Dan Agyei may not have been the most prolific figure in the third tier this term, but in all competitions, he has been able to register double figures in terms of goals.
That is a decent achievement - and he's a very tricky player for opposition defences to deal with.
At 27 too, he still has plenty to give, and with Danny Ward's future beyond the end of this season uncertain and Callum Marshall's loan spell coming to an end when the season finishes, having Agyei as a squad option could be very useful for the Terriers.
The John Smith's Stadium could also be an attractive destination for the Leyton Orient star.
