Lamine Yamal has been playing at a very good level since the start of last season, and in addition to his good performances for FC Barcelona, he has also impressed a lot in the Spanish national team, winning the UEFA EURO 2024 with them last summer.

With such excellent performances at such a young age, it was only deserved that he got the Golden Boy Award for this year. He was given this award by its creator, the journalist Massimo Franchi, ahead of the game against Leganes last Sunday, and then the official presentation came at an event in Italy on Monday.

Yamal presented this trophy to his fans before the match against Leganes and also shared his achievement on social media. His post on Instagram received a lot of reactions, most of them congratulating the youngster for this recognition.

However, as SPORT has noted, one of the more prominent individuals to comment on this post was the Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. The €55m-rated Englishman commented with a fire emoji on this post, and the fans are particularly excited after seeing this reaction.

This excitement comes mostly because Rashford is one of the players linked with Barcelona in recent weeks as the Catalans look to reinforce their attack going forward and Rashford’s talent and versatility make him a very attractive option for them.

Furthermore, he is not having a very good season with Manchester United, which raises the possibility of him leaving the Red Devils. However, Barcelona’s problems with their wage margin will make it quite unlikely for them to actually land him, and PSG and Saudi Arabia are the more viable options for the English forward at this point in time.

Still, Rashford’s reaction to Yamal’s post raises the expectations of Barcelona fans and also showcases his good relationship with the new Golden Boy.
