Although the frontline of FC Barcelona has been performing at a very high level this season, it still lacks depth. Raphinha, Lewandowski, and Yamal started the season in blazing form, but Hansi Flick would face significant challenges in replacing any of these key players in the lineup.

The Blaugranes are aware of this weakness and thus are reportedly looking to strengthen their attack in the next summer transfer window, especially the left wing.

For this purpose, they have been linked with several names in the last few months. One of the most notable of these players is the AC Milan winger, Rafael Leão. The Portuguese forward’s future at the Italian club is highly uncertain at the moment, especially as his relationship with the new coach, Paulo Fonseca has been far from good.

In this regard, Fichajes reports that Leão is looking for a change of scenery going forward, and his preferred destination at the moment is none other than FC Barcelona.

Meanwhile, the Blaugranes believe the opportunity to sign a player as good as Leão is a unique one, as they are particularly impressed with his ability to get the better of defenders in one-on-one situations. He will also suit well to Barcelona’s style of play, as Flick has relied a lot on quick wingers like Raphinha and Yamal.

For now, Barcelona are closely following Leão’s situation at Milan, recognizing that they could secure a player of his caliber for a significantly lower price than under typical circumstances.

The €75 million-rated Portuguese forward has a contract with Milan till 2028, and there are several other clubs also interested in him along with Barcelona. Thus, it remains to be seen where he will be playing next season.
