‘A genius’… Hansi Flick applauds 17-year-old Barcelona winger and veteran defender | OneFootball

If there is one man responsible for what Barcelona has done this season, that man is Hansi Flick. Since arriving at the beginning of this campaign, the German coach has completely turned things around. He has now turned this Barcelona into proper contenders for every title.

From his tactics to his detailed measures, Hansi Flick has managed to transform this team. They now look strong and resilient in the face of extreme challenges, and that is exactly what Barcelona had been missing for a couple of seasons now.

Now, ahead of yet another crucial La Liga game against Celta Vigo, Hansi Flick spoke about his players and dealing with fatigue as well. As quoted by SPORT, he first applauded the abilities of 17-year-old Lamine Yamal:

“Everyone knows Lamine is a genius. At 17, he carries a lot of pressure on his shoulders, and we need him at his very best.”

However, when it comes to dealing with fatigue and conditioning, the Barcelona coach made it clear that he always communicates with his players:

“I talk to the players. If they’re tired, they let me know, and we adjust things — same goes for Koundé, Lamine, and everyone else.”

Speaking about communication, he also praised the qualities of Inigo Martinez when it comes to communicating with the rest of his teammates:

“It’s very important to communicate on the pitch. Iñigo sees everything from his position.”

He also praised his professionalism and even stated that he is an undisputed leader for the team:

“He’s one of the players who can direct the team from the back. He’s very important. I’m very happy with him — I appreciate his professionalism, and he’s an undisputed leader.”

As of right now, Barça sit on the top of the La Liga table with a four point advantage. However, a win against Celta Vigo in the upcoming game could end up temporarily giving the team a seven point lead. Fortunately, Flick could end up fielding a strong starting eleven for that game and that should improve their chances of getting all three points.
