Manchester City need players who can step in immediately and aid their cause in January. There are a host of areas of Pep Guardiola’s squad that needs reinforcement. Midfield and defence appear to be two of those areas. A player like Joshua Kimmich could step into either areas of the pitch with his versatility as a player. He has played at right-back and in midfield during his career. If he did arrive at Manchester City next month he would immediately add a quality and versatile option to the City squad.

A January move for the German international may also prove to be a shrewd piece of business. Kimmich only has six months left on his current contract with Bayern Munich. As per the TBR Football report, he is yet to agree on a contract extension. He could therefore be available for a cut price fee next month. Given that the January transfer window is typically a difficult time to sign players a move for Kimmich does make sense. He wouldn’t be too expensive, and it could be an easy deal for Manchester City to complete if Kimmich does want to leave Bayern Munich next month.

January looms as a busy month for Manchester City. It appears that Joshua Kimmich may be one player they look to sign in a few weeks time. The German international would immediately add quality to City’s squad so it makes sense that they would pursue a move for Kimmich. Now it is a waiting game to see if Manchester City do pursue a move for Kimmich.
