Aaron Ramsdale finger injury, November 2024

Shortly into his Southampton stay, the Saints were rocked by an Aaron Ramsdale injury blow.

Ramsdale's last match for Southampton was against Wolves, before the November international break. It was a disappointing result for the Saints, as they lost to relegation rivals Wolves.

The shot-stopper was initially called up to represent England in the November international break. However, due to a problem involving his finger, Ramsdale was forced to withdraw.

It was unknown at the time how long Ramsdale would be out for. The injury was known to be serious when, even after the international break, Ramsdale was not involved in the match against Liverpool.

Before the EFL Cup quarter final against Liverpool shortly before Christmas, Ramsdale said: “I’m looking forward to next week. We have two games that I’m hoping to be involved in. It’s about making sure it’s fixed properly."

Now, Aaron Ramsdale is expected to play against Fulham in the final Premier League match before Christmas.

Fair to say, it is a nice feeling for Southampton to have Ramsdale available again, in their first match after Russell Martin was sacked.
