The £9 million Hoops forward netted his third and fourth league goals of the season and his seventh competitive strike across all competitions on Saturday evening since arriving from English Championship side Norwich City on a permanent deal in the summer.
Idah’s brace means the Irishman now averages a goal every 77 minutes for Celtic since the start of the campaign.
Brendan Rodgers’ men went three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table over the weekend as Aberdeen suffered their first league defeat under the reigns of Jimmy Thelin in a 2-1 defeat against St Mirren in Paisley.

Meanwhile, Celtic extended the gap between themselves and theRangers to 11 points after Dundee United sealed a point at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
Despite an uneventful first half, Celtic’s scintillating second-half display proved too much for Neil Critchley’s Hearts who linger in 11th spot just one point above their Edinburgh rivals Hibernian at the bottom.
Focus for Idah and his teammates now switch to Celtic’s huge Champions League encounter with Belgian champions Club Brugge on Wednesday evening at Paradise. A victory would secure a top 24 spot meaning a knockout-playoff round tie guaranteed in February.
Speaking to Sky Sports post-match on Saturday night, the 6ft3 striker remained humble in his analysis of his scoring exploits.
“I don’t think I won us the game, but I’m really happy. I’ve said this week that I want to set myself some goals and obviously the main one was to score more goals,” he said.
“Look, I’m happy with how I played [against Hearts]and overall, the team, we got the three points. Whether you are starting or coming off the bench, everyone is there to make an impact, so that’s the mindset we’ve got and everyone is doing their best.”

In response to whether the opportunities will keep on coming for the Irishman domestically and in Europe’s elite club competition, Idah outlined, “yeah, 100 percent. Especially with us in the Champions League, everyone knows how important these games are and everyone wants to do well and play their part.”
“I think for now we are doing well. We’ve just got to keep going.”
