Adam Idah looking forward to Cork return in the Hoops | OneFootball

The date of July 8, 2025 is already marked in Adam Idah’s calendar, and not just because it’s a key date in Celtic’s pre-season build-up as the Hoops take on Cork City at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Not all that long ago, the Irish striker never thought he would play in Cork again and he never thought he would play for Celtic, and now he gets to do both on the same day in his hometown in front of friends and family.

It may be a pre-season game for the Hoops, but the Irish side will be in mid-season – and, there’s a trophy at stake, with the Cork Super Cup up for grabs.

The Hoops striker said at a media conference in Cork today: “It’s really exciting. It’s strange, I really didn’t think I’d play in Cork again, and play for Celtic, and now I’m doing both so it’s really exciting for me, my family and friends to come and see me play.

“It’s hard to come across to Celtic and watch the games, so to do it back home and for all my family to come and watch me will be amazing, so I’m really looking forward to it.

“Cork City are a great side and they are going to be up for it just as much as we are, so it will be an exciting day for everyone.”

Match tickets

Season ticket holders with SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Celtic FC and Cork City FC will be able to purchase tickets from Wednesday, March 5 by following instructions that will be sent by email.

Tickets will go on general sale, including a limited number of family tickets, via www.corksupercup.com/tickets and Ticketmaster from 9am on Friday morning, March 7.
