Adrien Rabiot (29) will likely miss France’s match against Croatia on Sunday night. The Olympique de Marseille midfielder has suffered a calf injury.
Speaking in a press conference, Didier Deschamps confirmed that Rabiot will not train with the squad on Saturday evening due to a calf issue. The France manager said that it would be “difficult” for him to play in the game at the Stade de France tomorrow.
Les Bleus need to overturn a 2-0 deficit at the Stade de France. Croatia hold a 2-0 advantage going into the second leg of the UEFA Nations League encounter as both aim to reach the final four of the competition. The absence of Rabiot, one of Deschamps’ regulars in midfield, is a blow.
Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga (22) is the leading candidate to replace Rabiot in Les Bleus’ midfield, although AS Roma’s Manu Koné (23), who came off the bench in Split, is also an option at Deschamps’ disposal.
