Agent Pietro Chiodi revealed some backstories about Roma appointing Claudio Ranieri, as he has represented the manager for the past four years, in an interview to Corriere dello Sport.
“He had said that he would come out of retirement just for Cagliari, Roma, or a national team. He would have never said no to them. We first talked after the Bologna game. There was immediate chemistry with director Florent Ghisolfi, setting the stage for the trip to London. The agreement came quickly and without a hitch. They are structured like many other sides.”
Ranieri then met with the owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin.
“There was empathy with them right away. The former said that he wasn’t sleeping at night because Roma couldn’t win despite their status within the sport and his investments and passion. They are super fans. The level of the summit was very high. The management is solid and wants to reach its goals.”
Ranieri will stay in the front office after the end of the season.
“He obtained a two-year contract as senior technical manager. He’ll be a consultant to the owner for all things related to the club. We spoke for hours, and he explained his viewpoints. They all expected his normality. They have gone from the Special One to the Normal One.”
The agent of Ranieri was surprised by the governors.

They are hurting when the results don’t come. They explained some technical things very well. I’m sure they’ll be able to have big satisfactions.”
