Ajax kicked off their KNVB Beker campaign with a comfortable victory over Den Bosch away from home on Wednesday night.
Scorers: Tadic (PEN) 20′, Taylor 52′
Ajax took the lead from the penalty spot after 20 minutes which they were awarded for a poorly-timed slide in the area, despite appeals that they should have had one for a handball seconds before regardless.
In any case, Dušan Tadić dispatched his penalty high into the corner and although the goalkeeper went the right way, there was no keeping out the Serbian’s strike.
And Kenneth Taylor ensured there would be no early shock seven minutes after half-time when he fired in from range to seal the Amsterdam outfit’s safe passage into round three.
Sixteen-year-old Jorrel Hato was handed an Ajax debut, while defender Olivier Aertssen joined him in making his first appearance.
Notably, elsewhere in the KNVB Beker, Eredivisie strugglers Cambuur were the victims of a major shock as they were humbled 1-0 by amateur side De Treffers.
