AS Monaco are closing in on the signing of Ajax midfielder Jordan Henderson (34), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
Monaco have been in the market for a midfielder throughout the January transfer window and have made moves for several targets. Their attempts to sign Edson Alvarez on loan from West Ham United were rebuffed by the Premier League club. Les Monégasques had been agreed a deal to sign Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe, however, the Frenchman had a calf issue, which was detected in his medical. Needing a player fit to play from the off, Monaco therefore pulled out of the deal.
Henderson has therefore emerged as the priority target. As per Romano, Monaco are closing in on the signing of the former Liverpool capain. A permanent deal with a deal running until June 2026 has been evoked by the journalist with the Principality club looking to get the deal over the line before the deadline early next week.
