Manchester City captain Kyle Walker is the subject of a late transfer enquiry from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

The 34-year-old, who is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2026, is preparing to begin his eighth campaign at the Etihad Stadium, as Manchester City begin their latest Premier League title defence against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Walker captained Manchester City to a record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title last season, with the full-back having become a six-time Premier League winner in May, as Pep Guardiola’s side beat West Ham.

The right-back has won 17 trophies since signing from Tottenham in 2017, and won the UEFA Champions League with Manchester City in 2023, as part of an historic treble triumph.

The England international was heavily linked with a potential move to Bayern Munich last summer, but opted to remain in east Manchester, signing a new two-year deal 11 months ago.

Walker has made 301 appearances for the Sky Blues, and started 45 matches for Manchester City during 2023/24 season – 14 matches more than the previous 2022/23 campaign.

The Englishman, who is one of the most senior members of the Manchester City first-team squad, became club captain last summer following the departure of Ilkay Gundogan to FC Barcelona on a free transfer.

Walker’s future at the Etihad Stadium has been plunged into fresh doubt however, with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal reportedly interested in signing the 34-year-old during the remaining weeks of the transfer window.

Outlet City Report claim that the Saudi Arabian club are ‘interested’ in signing Walker this summer, and have ‘enquired’ about the valuation of the defender, in anticipation of making a potential late swoop.

Walker is the fourth Manchester City first-team star to be linked with a move to the Middle East this summer, following interest in Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson and Matheus Nunes.
