Udinese coach Kosta Runjaic has confirmed that former Barcelona, Arsenal and Inter forward Alexis Sanchez will finally be part of the matchday squad for the first time this season when the Friulani take on Napoli in Serie A over the weekend.
Sanchez, who began his career in Europe with Udinese all the way back in 2006, returned to his former club over the summer following the expiry of his one-year deal with Inter at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

However, he was diagnosed with myofascial pain in his leg over the summer and is yet to make a competitive appearance for Udinese as a result.
That could soon change though, as Runjaic has confirmed that the 35-year-old is in contention to get his first minutes in Udinese colours for the first time in 13 years.
The Udinese coach did not confirm that Sanchez will play against Napoli on Saturday, admitting that ‘it depends on several factors’, but the Chilean will be with the first team group on matchday.
“We are focused on the game and Alexis Sanchez will finally be with us,” Runjaic said in his pre-match press conference, reported via La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“This is great news, we will see if he can play a few minutes, it depends on several factors. He is back in the group, even if he is not yet in top form, but he will be there.”
