West Ham United will face off against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this Sunday afternoon as they try to grind out a result on their travels in the Premier League. The Hammers managed to secure a 3-1 win over Luton Town recently which should give them some confidence ahead of this game.
David Moyes will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make one change to his first XI for this game. Edson Alvarez might get a chance to play from the start of this game while Tomas Soucek has to settle for a place on the bench.
Defence
Alphonse Areola will function in goal for the Hammers after he shipped in one goal in his last outing. Angelo Ogbonna will play alongside Kurt Zouma at the centre of the West Ham backline as they focus on keeping things solid at the back during the game.
Vladimir Coufal will fill in as the right-back while Emerson Palmieri hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would have to perform their defensive duties well if they are to limit the chance that the home side create from the flanks.
Aaron Cresswell will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield
Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse will operate as the holding midfielders for the East London club as they look to make life difficult for the opposition in the middle of the park. The gifted trio of Lucas Paqueta, Mohamed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen will play just ahead of them as part of the West Ham attack. All three of them need to combine well if they are to cause some problems for the Man City defenders this weekend.
Ben Johnson and Tomas Soucek will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Michail Antonio will spearhead West Ham’s attack on his own up top. He would be eager to cause some headaches for the Man City centre-backs this weekend.
Danny Ings will make up the numbers on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the contest if the Hammers are in need of a goal by then.
