América set sights on hot Uruguayan prospect Brian Ocampo

América have reportedly entered negotiations to land Uruguay international winger Brian Ocampo.

The 22-year-old is a free agent after his contract with Nacional expired on 31 December.

According to reports in South America (via TUDN), the player is looking for a $4m signing-on bonus to link up with the Azulcrema.

If agreement can be reached on terms, Ocampo is expected to travel to Mexico next week to complete the necessary medical examinations.

The right-sided player has made almost 98 appearances in all competitions for the Montevideo outfit, scoring eight times and providing 26 assists (via Transfermarkt).

He is considered one of the brightest young prospects for La Celeste, as evidenced by his debut against Argentina in the Copa América last summer.
