Ruben Amorim got his first win as Manchester United head coach with a less than convincing but entertaining 3-2 win over Bodø/Glimt at Old Trafford.

After scoring just two minutes into his first game at Ipswich, United got the opener here even earlier, Alejandro Garnacho scoring inside a minute.

It was a howler from Bodø/Glimt keeper Nikita Khaikin, who dawdled on the ball, allowing Rasmus Højlund to brilliantly close him down, and Garnacho to tap into an empty net.

Bodø, who carried a threat throughout, equalised in the 19th minute with a brilliant goal from Hükon Evjen, who curled home a left-footed shot from outside box after his side capitalised on some slack United play.

The Norwegians then stunned Old Trafford three minutes later, taking the lead through Philip Zinckernagel, who bullied the returning Tyrell Malacia, and finished confidently. Both goals seemed to come as a result of the United players struggling in their new set-up.

United struggled to create any real chances, and looked shaky every time they lost the ball, with the visiting fans revelling in their side's performance.

They grabbed an equaliser on the stroke of half-time through Højlund. Noussair Mazraoui did very well to fashion a cross, and the Danish striker punished his fellow Scandinavians with a stunning touch and volleyed finish.

United picked up from where they left off after the break, Mason Mount hitting the bar from inside the box after good work from Garnacho, before Højlund got his second, and put his side back in front.

The striker tapped home from yards out after a lovely Mount flick, and a low cross from Manuel Ugarte.

Amorim made several changes in the second half, as he looked to put the game to bed. Garnacho had two of their best chances, firing wide and then over with two wild efforts, before Marcus Rashford dragged a shot wide.

United nervously held out to secure a much-needed win, and move into 12th in the Europa League.

Hummels goes from zero to hero

Scorers: Son (pen) 5', Johnson 34'; Ndicka 20', Hummels 90+2

Mats Hummels went from zero to hero on his first Roma start, giving away an early penalty before equalising at the death to secure a 2-2 draw for Claudio Ranieri's side at Tottenham.

Spurs took the lead after just five minutes from the spot through Son Heung-Min. Hummels took down Pape Matar Sarr, and the captain stepped up to slot home.

Roma equalised in the 20th minute, Evan Ndicka connecting with Paolo Dybala's corner to loop the ball past Fraser Forster. Stephan El Shaarawy thought he then gave his side the lead minutes later, but VAR adjudged he was offside.

Spurs regained the lead with a lovely team goal, finished off by Brennan Johnson, who continued his fine form in front of goal this season. Dybala lost the ball this time, giving it to Sarr, who found Dejan Kulusevski. The Swede beat Hummels for pace before playing a great ball in for Johnson to score.

Kulusevski then hit the post, and Son missed a glaring chance, as the hosts threatened to put the game out of sight before half-time.

Roma, who were somehow still in the game, had the ball in the net twice early into the second half, but Manu KonÊ and Artem Dovbk were both offside.

Pedro Porro was the next Spurs player to hit the woodwork, beating Mile Svilar all ends up with a 25-yard free-kick.

Roma stayed in the contest, and got their reward at the death. After Fraser Forster made a wonder save, Spurs failed to deal with the resulting corner, allowing Alexis Saelemaekers to find Hummels with a low cross, who headed home to redeem himself, and give Ranieri another night to remember in an English ground.

Rangers run riot in Côte d'Azur

Scorers: Bouanani 83', Černý 35', Diomande 38', Igamane 45+3', 54'

Rangers secured a brilliant 4-1 win away in Nice to move into the top eight of the Europa League.

Philippe Clement's side  took full control of the game before half-time with three goals in the space of 10 minutes. The first came from Václav Černý, who picked up the ball and finished coolly, albeit with the aid of a deflection or two.

Minutes later, Mohamed Diomande doubled their lead with a brilliant finish, moving past a defender before lifting the ball over the Nice goalkeeper.

In added time, Hamza Igamane seemingly put the game beyond the Ligue 1 side. Marcin Bulka found himself way out of his goal, allowing the Moroccan winger to nip in and finish to cap off a stunning first half for the Gers.

Igamane got his second, and Rangers' fourth, after the break, with another lovely finish.

Badredine Bouanani got a late consolation for Nice, floating in a brilliant free-kick just outside the box.

Kubo the star in Sociedad win

Scorers:  Barrene 67', Kubo 85'

Real Sociedad got a much-needed 2-0 win over Ajax to climb into 16th position in the Europa League table.

In a very even game, with few true chances, Sociedad broke the deadlock in the 67th minute through Barrene.

The forward had only been on the pitch for a matter of moments when he got himself first to Takefusa Kobo's dangerous cross, that had been whipped past the Ajax keeper.

The Japanese winger put the game to the bed with five minutes, weaving through defenders with a brilliant run before seeing his deflected effort curl into the bottom corner.
