Dino Toppmöller, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya and Can Uzun reflect on the 3-0 home win over 1. FC Heidenheim.
Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “It was a well-deserved win. We’re really pleased with the victory. It’s about approaching every game like a final, which is easier said than done. Some of our players have played a lot of games, particularly our international players. We went into the game with a really good attitude, which is always the first step. We’ve worked extremely hard all season to be in this position.”
Jean-Mattéo Bahoya: “It was an important win. Victories are always good for morale. I’m happy to score, particularly as it was my first Bundesliga goal at home. I didn’t have my best game against Tottenham. It was important to pick myself up and deliver a better performance, which I did. I’m learning from every game. We’ll do all we can to qualify [for the UEFA Europa League semi-finals] on Thursday, and we’ll continue to give our all to finish as high as possible in the Bundesliga.”
Can Uzun: “It wasn’t easy, but the important thing was getting the three points. We did that, so we’re happy. Hugo Ekitiké’s pace allowed us to make the most of our transitions. He’s doing really well. He’s high on confidence and had a really good game. Hopefully he’ll keep it up. I’m confident it’ll be a great atmosphere here on Thursday. We’ll do everything in our power to qualify.”
