Leeds United have been urged to sign AC Milan striker Tammy Abraham if a financially viable move presents itself to the Yorkshire club.
Reports this week from TBR suggest that Leeds have an interest in the Chelsea academy graduate, with the Whites looking for extra firepower no matter what division they find themselves in next season.
Leeds are currently leading the Championship with 13 games to go, although their two-point buffer over Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United means they have a long way to go in the promotion race.
Abraham is a rare example of an English export excelling away from the British Isles, with the striker having plied his trade out in Italy for the past four seasons.
In 103 Serie A appearances, Abraham has notched 28 goals, whilst also scoring twice in nine Champions League games for AC Milan this term.
However, Abraham has not been a guaranteed starter at the San Siro, leading speculation to arise over a potential new home once his loan with the Italian giants ends this summer.
As such, Leeds could prove to be a viable destination for Abraham if they were to earn promotion back to the Premier League.
Football League World’s Leeds United fan pundit Ger Lynch is certainly a fan of the 27-year-old, leading to the Whites supporter calling for his club to make a move for the striker.
Speaking about a potential Leeds move for Abraham, Ger told FLW: “Tammy Abraham is a striker I really, really like.
“I think he is doing reasonably well over in Italy. I know there is the issue of split ownership over there, but I think he is a really, really good striker.
“I think he would be an incredibly sensible signing for Leeds to make.
“I think he would have an impact in the Premier League, I think he would add a bit of experience to what is a relatively young Leeds squad.”
With Daniel Farke’s side flying in the Championship, thoughts of promotion and planning for next season have started to crop up in the thoughts of Leeds fans.
The club will certainly already be planning for the upcoming summer transfer window, with Leeds already linked to a few names in terms of potential signings.
With injury-hit Patrick Bamford approaching the last year of his deal at Elland Road, the Whites have reportedly looked at other striking options, such as soon-to-be free agent Callum Wilson.
But Ger believes that if Abraham is available to Leeds this summer, the forward should be made a top priority.
Ger continued: “If I was to pull a name out of my hat, who I’d like to see as a striker for Leeds next season, I think Tammy Abraham is definitely one of the top strikers that I would like to bring in.
“If he was offered to you, and the money was reasonable, you’d take him. I think Abraham is a very, very good player, and would be an excellent signing for Leeds.”
Leeds face stiff competition for Abraham from other clubs in England, however.
In the same report attributing Leeds to an interest in Abraham, Premier League clubs West Ham, Everton, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, and Fulham have also been credited with keeping tabs on the England international.
